Optimize Your Post-Sharing on Instagram with Stories Drafts

Instagram recently confirmed that their Draft feature would be usable once again from March onwards. All users can now save their Stories as drafts on their Instagram accounts.

As seen in the following sequence, a post by @WFBrother on Twitter (which was shared by Matt Navarra), Drafts is enabled when you leave the Stories composer before completing the process. If you opt to save a Draft on Stories, you will receive an alert informing you that all drafts are automatically removed a week after you save them. While that puts a limit on the timeline for saving, the option enables you to put together more well-crafted - and ultimately - comprehensive compositions, which you can subsequently share with your followers at just the right moment. 

Drafts will prove to be a very useful feature for creative leaders and social media managers - the former empowered with greater options and the latter with the ability to post at exactly the right time for optimal engagement.

Instagram users have always been able to save their stories by either downloading them on their devices or through other apps. But, previous to the Drafts feature, this capability existed outside the scope of Instagram, and therefore not always convenient to the user, even disrupting his process at times. By having your drafts within IG, you will view them as they look to users, and you'll also be able to make use of the app's complete range of features set in your draft creation process. This allows you to keep posting at an optimal frequency. 

Instagram provided us with the following statement regarding the feature:

"Instagram Stories drafts are now available for everyone, globally. Story drafts will save for seven days before disappearing."

Thus, the Stories Drafts feature looks very much like it opens up new possibilities in managing your Stories creation flow, and allows you the space to post at the right hour of the day to peak with your engagement. This is certainly a relevant and interesting development on the app, especially for creative professionals looking to successfully leverage Instagram's wide playing field.
